Historically the Elmhurst was built in 1903 for the cannon brewery, the Elmhurst stands out with its Queen Anne-style features, Bold gables, a corner spirelet and ornate Windows.
It has an Edwardian interior with a beautifully carved back bar and a central clock, alongside a moulded ceiling, stained glass windows.
CAMRA awarded it a ‘one star’ (a pub interior of special national historic interest) highlighting the ‘magnificent back bar’ and richly decorated ceiling from original Edwardian design.
